Sepik River Cruises

The Sepik River is located in New Guinea. Most of it flows through the provinces of East Sepik and Sandaun in Papua New Guinea. However, there is a small portion of the river located in the province of Papua which is an Indonesian province. This river is considered to be one of the most majestic in all the world. Part of its allure are the landforms that include rainforests, mountains and swamps. On a biological level, the river is perhaps the largest body of unpolluted freshwater in the Asian Pacific. Melanesian Tourist Services is a company in the area that offers a variety of cruises on the Sepik river. The cruises range in duration from four to twelve nights. They range from Mandang and Timbunke on the middle portion of the river. Other regions are covered as well including the lower portion of the river, Murik Lakes, the Keram River, and the middle Sepik area which includes the Chambri Lakes. This lounge offers lecture facilities on a spacious covered deck and even a piano.
